They may not have been the headlining act, but it was The Libertines that stole the show at the Leeds Festival last night.

The recently reunited band sent the 69,000-strong crowd into a frenzy as they treated them to a set that included hits such as Whatever Became of The Likely Lads, What A Waster and Can't Stand Me Now.

Vocally on form, Pete Doherty teamed up with his former band mate Carl Barat as they shared a microphone and looked delighted to be in each other's company again as they enthusiastically entertained the Bramham Park masses.

Earlier on, US rockers The Gaslight Anthem followed Mystery Jets onto the main stage at the three-day event, and got the crowd jumping, particularly to their best-known song The '59 Sound.

Music News also have the pleasure of being treated to a set by Skinny Lister, a C&W style band who looked like something out of 1940s wartime Britain, but had everyone in the Gaymers Garden jigging along and slapping their thighs to their delightfully cute sound.

Up today, Motion City Soundtrack kick off proceedings on the main stage, followed later by Cypress Hill, Weezer and headliners Blink 182.
